Research for the Cure

There is currently no known cure for muscular dystrophy. The goal of treatments and therapies today are to control muscle symptoms.

A prevalent treatment/therapy is physical therapy. This helps to maintain muscles functioning at their current states. Other options to treat muscle disorders include surgery, corticosteroids (which enables children to walk for as long as possible) and physical activity. Despite these treatments, there are many active research programs being conducted through funds in efforts to find the cure. However, further donations are required to continue pioneering research for this disease.
